What Does Cross-Enrolled Mean? Being Cross-Enrolled means that a British Columbia high school student who needs a course, but for some reason cannot take it at their local high school, can take it at a different school. It also means that taking an extra course at another school is free of charge to the student. In addition, it easier for counselors to find courses for their students, if they cannot get them at their own school. Why Is Cross Enrollment Option Available? In the fall of 2008, the BC Ministry announced a new educational mandate for education in British Columbia. It now provides opportunities to students to take any course, anywhere, anytime! This was done to alleviate some of the course and program gaps/discrepancies in the school system, specifically between schools and districts. It also now provides a more flexible way for students to move ahead and achieve their education in ways that was not previously possible. |
