This program offers Kimberley students social and emotional support in a school setting. With a low student to staff ratio and a social worker dedicated to students in the program, students get intensive support to deal with the daily challenges they face. Academic programming is flexible and self-paced. In addition, courses are provided in art, leadership and physical education to provide students with enrichment activiites.
Our students find the relaxed format of our school accomodating of a diversity of needs.
Program Schedule
Our program has a four day week with extended hours from Monday to Thursday. Morning and afternoon blocks are made up of three 50 minute classes. Attendance is taken hourly at the beginning and end of each block. Academic blocks are self-paced and individualized for each student. Students are responsible for working quietly and independently during these blocks, or they will be asked to leave. In the afternoons, regular art classes will be offered every Monday, Community Leadership on Tuesday, and PE on Thursday. Community Leadership and PE classes are usually field trip based.
