Rocky Mountain Continuing Education Programs: Home Schooling

Our Learning @ Home DL program is for in district students from Kindergarten to Grade 9. It is designed for those families who would like a flexible program that is geared to their particular situation. This program works well for those families who may have a medical situation, or whose children must travel long distances each day to attend school. In other cases, it might be that the family wants to travel during the school year. Each family will have their unique reasons for wanting educational opportunities tailored to their situation.

For the K-7 students we use the same paper-based curriculum from Open School as most other distance education providers. For the K-4 students, parents can choose Oak Meadows or Open School Curriculum. Students in grades 8 & 9 use a combination of Open School and Pro Active Curriculum.

A resource person will provide you with all the necessary resources and visit the student on a regular bases to make sure that progress is being made.

How do students get the help they need?
For students who are near one of our training centres there is the opportunity for direct student/parent/ teacher contact.

For those students unable to access one of our training centres, students are able to phone, email, or fax our staff to receive the assistance they require. Regular mail can be used as well.
